Why a dandelion?

Dandelion Reflect is a free, private digital journal. It brings together distraction-free writing, guided breathing exercises, and mood tracking — all without streak counters, ads, or social features.

Because dandelions don't try hard. They grow where they land, bloom without an audience, and when the wind comes, they let go. That's what journaling should feel like — natural, effortless, and entirely yours.

The problem with most journal apps

Most journaling apps are built like productivity tools. They have streak counters that punish you for missing a day. Social features that turn private reflection into performance. AI that reads your entries and tells you how to feel. Templates that turn your unique thoughts into fill-in-the-blank exercises.

We think that's backwards. A journal should reduce pressure, not add to it. It should be the one place in your digital life where nothing is tracked, measured, or optimized.

What we built instead

A clean page

No templates, no prompts unless you want them. Open the app and you see what a writer sees: a blank page with beautiful typography, waiting for your words.

No streaks

Write daily, weekly, or once a month. We'll never show you a streak counter, send you guilt emails, or gamify your reflection practice. Your journal, your pace.

Built-in breathing

10 guided breathing exercises live right inside the app — from 4-7-8 breathing for sleep to box breathing for focus. A dandelion animates with your breath.

Mood as weather

Track your emotions with visual metaphors, not clinical scales. Your mood becomes clouds and colors — a poetic landscape rather than a spreadsheet.

Our design philosophy

  • 01.Privacy is not a feature. It's the architecture. Your data is isolated at the database level with row-level security. We can't read your entries even if we wanted to.
  • 02.Absence is a feature. No notifications. No social. No AI analyzing your mood. The things we left out are as important as the things we put in.
  • 03.Wellness should be integrated, not separate. Breathing exercises and mood tracking live inside your journal — not in a different app competing for your attention.
  • 04.Software should feel handmade. Organic shapes, handwritten fonts, playful layouts. Your journal should feel like a beloved notebook, not a corporate SaaS product.
